St Joseph’s Students Share Stories and Smiles at Andrew’s House
Recently, senior students from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School brought joy and laughter
to the residents of Andrew’s House nursing care facility, during a special visit to mark
International Children’s Book Day.
The celebration began with the students singing and dancing for the residents, setting a
cheerful tone for the visit. The young visitors then shared their favourite picture story books,
reading aloud and chatting with residents about the stories they love most.
The visit was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved, blending generations
through music, storytelling, and meaningful conversation.
“It was a wonderful way to celebrate books and bring people together,” said Mrs Mulqueen,
Principal at St Joseph’s School. “The students loved it—and so did the residents.”
The event highlighted the power of books to connect people of all ages and made for a truly
memorable International Children’s Book Day.

The Easter Story
The students at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School presented ‘The Easter Story’ in St John’s Church
Trafalgar. The students re-enacted the events of Holy Week telling the story of the last week in
Jesus’ life. The presentation started with Jesus being welcomed into Jerusalem and then Jesus
shared his last meal with his friends in The Last Supper. The students acted out the Stations of the
Cross using a series of still, human photographs, together with music (both modern and traditional),
as they helped the people to think deeply about this story.
The students felt privileged to lead the community in prayer.
